September has come and with the advent of Labor Day this coming weekend we are seeing a close to summer. The Fall for many is the start of something new, kids go back to school, careers suddenly become more important as summer diminishes in the rear view mirror. It is no different in direct sales, often times new distributors facing their first summer become uneasy because they see their businesses soften. For the new distributor, he should take a deep breath and realize faster growth is about to begin.
It is also a good time to introduce new things. I always hesitate to talk about technology as it pertains to the business because many people have a natural defensive reaction. And yet, technology is changing how the business works on a daily basis. I think we can all agree that when we bump into technological change in our life, it can seem confusing. The picture below, to a certain extent, is a metaphor of that reaction.
At first glance, the picture seems confused. It looks as if it is a spiral, but if you squint your eyes and step back you will see that it is only four concentric circles. Technology can be the same way. Initially we might not understand it but as we step back it becomes clear how it can help us and extend our businesses.
Over the last six months or so I have been working with others to create a new technological component to our businesses that will solve some of the intrinsic problems that we face in network marketing. Over the course of the next several months we will be conducting a beta test of those technologies to see if we can change direct sales as it now exists. I know that assertion seems somewhat grandiose but that is what experimentation is all about. I would like to invite those who would want to participate in this experiment to do so. In the next day or two this URL (www.craigbryson.com) will cease to be a blog and turn into a new website that hopefully will be helpful to all those who use it. Part of that website will be labeled "Nu Labs" and it is within this portion of the site that the experimentation will begin. It will be something that is totally new and will be soliciting your observations and comments.
